Khao Phing Kan Island Beach

There is a marine park , among the most popular attractions in Thailand ‘s Pang-nga province . And there is an island, Khao Phing Kan, which is attracting more and more visitors, starting with its unique shape, a kind of big nail . You have to imagine huge and majestic rocks, hovering above the sea. On the island, which lies in an archipelago of a dozen atolls , you will find lush and flourishing vegetation . It is located northwest of Phang-nga Bay. It is also known as James Bond Island , thanks to film and The Man with the Golden Gun , a film in the Agent 007 serieswhich was shot here.

The island is easily accessible from Khao Lak, Phuket, Krabi . Once there, you can choose from several options, including a tour with traditional wooden boats . You will make a crossing through the mangrove forests , alternatively by motorboat. The island’s caves and coves are almost always accessible by sea and can also be visited by canoe.

Patong Beach, Phuket

Phuket is a well-known island and its beaches cannot go unnoticed. A pristine sea and a soft, clear beach are features you will find everywhere, along with lush vegetation. The island’s main tourist district is called Patong , and covers about 17 square kilometers, it was rebuilt after the devastating 2004 Tsunami.

Phang Nga Bay, Phuket

One of the area’s premier attractions is the Phang-nga Bay National Park . The area, active since 1981, extends over almost 500 kilometres. It is a very famous marine national park in the country, which includes islands, varied mountains and forests . The bay is one of the most beautiful places in Southeast Asia.

Maya Bay Beach, Phi Phi Island

The most popular beach on the islands is Maya Beach . An absolute charm, thanks to the immense and sinuous cliffs , as well as a dazzling nature: a combination which creates an intact and wild charm. Add to that clear waters, fine sand and a wonderful postcard landscape . The Thai beach, which has become too famous for the film “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio, had to close access to tourists to preserve its ecosystem.

A difficult situation, which had been clear for some time and which could not continue without adequate countermeasures, given the massive influx of tourists : last year, the authorities had already implemented a first seasonal shutdown so that nature can regenerate. But that wasn’t enough, prompting the announcement of an ‘indefinite’ closure, until the area’s ecosystem returned to normal. And so, as the authorities have officially explained, the beach will be closed during the first half of 2021 . The situation will be assessed every three months with a view to a possible reopening.

Ton Sai Bay, Krabi

Tonsai Beach is one of four beaches located on the Railay Peninsula. It retains the magic of the past and has a quaint air , as it houses a number of bamboo huts that tourists love. It is a very scenic and very popular place in Krabi . And nature is the protagonist, thanks to the lush forest and the majestic rocks .

Rang Yai Beach, Phuket

The beaches of Ang Thong Marine National Park

It is a marine park  located in the south of Thailand, precisely in the province of Surat Thani: we are talking about  Mu Koh Ang Thong, formed by 42 islands . Institutionalized in 1980, the park covers 102 square kilometers, only a fifth of which is on land. The islands are  characterized by mountains of rocky origin  that reach 500 meters above sea level.

The islands in this area are characterized by rocky cliffs  that rise to the sea , opening onto a still undegraded natural landscape. Here you will have the opportunity to know a  very particular fauna and flora.

Thong Nai Pan Bay Beach

Beauty and variety of landscapes , ease of access,  excellent facilities , make  Koh Phangan  a place to mark with a white stone during your cruise in Thailand. The bay is very picturesque and well protected from waves and wind. According to a local legend, the name refers to a man who had been loyal to his king and who, as a reward, received the lands of the bay.

In addition to  the tranquility of the place , what is most appreciated is the  beauty of the landscape , perfect for hiking. Then its  waters are calm and clear as crystal . There is no coral reef, but the absence of current allows you to swim in calm seas, perfect for snorkeling.

In the area, there are two beaches:  Thong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai . Both are characterized by fine white sand and are lined with palm trees, which provide shade and a pinch of freshness. To the north there is a pretty cove where you can discover another beach.

Haad Rin Beach, Koh Phangan

The beaches of Koh Phangan are among the most fascinating: the landscape is that of a tropical beach: coconut trees, turquoise waters and white sand beaches. Since the 70s, Haad Rin beach has become the most popular, because it is easily accessible from the neighboring island of Koh Samui and because it is the most equipped with services. There is also a nightlife reason.

It was at the end of the 80s that it was decided to create the  Full Moon Party  : a party organized during the full moon, once a month, on the beach of Haad Rin and in which more than  ten thousand people take part . There are two beaches in Haad Rin. The first is called Sunset Beach  (Haad Rin Noi) . The second is Sunrise Beach,  (Haad Rin Nok) , is full of charm. The sand is white and the sea is deep blue. The water is clear and transparent, and it is a pleasure to swim.

Lamai Beach, Koh Samui

Fine white sand, lush vegetation and crystal clear sea  are the  beaches of Koh Samui , one of the most famous seaside resorts in the country. Here you will find many and varied beaches that have attracted  more and more tourists over the years . Lamai Beach takes its name from the village of the same name, and it is a quiet beach, but it can count on many services. It represents an optimal solution for those who want to relax, being able to count on  nearby clubs and restaurants.

The beach is very wide,  the sea is shaded by crystal clear waters  and tanning is guaranteed. The  nightlife offers different alternatives  between clubs, restaurants and beach parties: you can eat well and in the region there are plenty of possibilities to find accommodation for all budgets. Chaweng Beach  is the largest beach and also the one with the most facilities. Along the 7 kilometers of this coast you can reach shops, bars and many restaurants where you can taste the local specialties.

Pattaya Beach, Bangkok

Pattaya, which is in the province of Chonburi, is one of the most sparkling places in the country. It was for a long time a simple village where mainly fishermen lived until 1961 . That year, a group of American soldiers , engaged in the Vietnam conflict , arrived in the city to rest and enjoy themselves. Pattaya has quickly become a popular resort, ready to welcome tourists.

The fisherman’s huts have been replaced by hotels, entertainment centers and shops, including a huge shopping mall , the Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall. Pattaya offers many opportunities for fun among attractions and nightlife: the beaches, which lie just 150 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, are the most popular. Today visitors come here for windsurfing, diving, sailing , but there are also plenty of excursions to nearby islands.

Hat Pattaya beach is a concentrate of charm: thanks to the vegetation and the palm trees that reach the promenade. There is no shortage of services, hotels, restaurants and numerous shops. The most impressive beach is Jomtien Beach , which stretches for about 6 kilometers. On this beach, the water is crystal clear and the atmosphere is more relaxed. Another gem is Naklua Beach , which is further north, and here too you will find the right pace for a vacation.

Railay Beach, Krabi

A classic tropical paradise: we are talking about the southern coast of Thailand. The cliffs can offer incredibly beautiful beaches : the first not to be missed is that of Railay . Here you will find the sea, but also majestic rocks and lush jungle . There are many activities you can do: kayaking, diving, snorkeling .

Another place not to be missed is Rai Leh, a small peninsula that can only be reached by boat. It is famous for its cliffs, which attract climbers from across the border, but above all for the beauty of its beaches and the calm and relaxed atmosphere .

Just go to Ao Nang beach to see it. The waters of this beach are also suitable for children since they are shallow and can take advantage of the games of light and shadow created by the emerging rocks. Another beach full of beauty is that of Nopparat Tara . It is a 3 km long fine sandy beach. It is a long and uncrowded beach.

Phra Ae Beach, Krabi

Koh Lanta is one of the jewels of Krabi province, dotted with sea pearls and is a place full of views. It is a suspended reality where the islands sometimes seem to rise from the sea. The region is a chaotic collection of bays and coves which have been the refuge of pirates. In this area, the beaches are accessible and reserved.

The most famous beach of Koh Lanta is called Phra Ae or Long Beach , it is located south of Klong Dao, and extends for five kilometers: it is a characteristic sand tongue covered by a calm sea full of shades. On this beach, very busy during the summer, there are many seaside resorts. There are several restaurants and clubs where you can taste fish specialties. Khlong Dao , on the other hand, is a strip of soft sand that stretches for three kilometers.

Ko Nang Yuang Beach, Koh Tao

It is described as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world and one of the paradises not to be missed. To get to the island of Koh Nang Yuan, you have to travel to the southern Gulf of Thailand . The island consists of three small islands.

Forget the noise , the cars, and get ready to enjoy only nature and the gentle waves of the sea. A little dream, when you get up in the morning, to go out and find yourself in nature , among the colorful birds and lush palm trees. In front of you, you will have a free beach and clear water, so you can see the fish and the bottom of the sea. In Koh Nang Yuan , time passes slowly and expands. Don’t be in a hurry .

Kai Bae Beach, Trat

On Kai Bae beach, expect fine sand, palm trees with a unique view of the neighboring islands . Activities are numerous: there are boat rental services and dive shops.

And then, for those looking for a bit of social life or wanting a tasty break, the village offers restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs and the atmosphere becomes particularly bubbly after sunset. And there is also a viewpoint to the south of Kai Bae. Here you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding bays and islands.

Of these, the nearest island is Koh Man Nai . Its beaches attract an increasing number of visitors each year. They are a unique mixture of wild landscape , a very relaxed atmosphere, because there is not yet too much tourist development. The location is also good, given the proximity to Bangkok and the ability to choose from a wide range of resorts, which are located right on the beach.

Lonely Beach, Trat

Don’t let the name fool you, it may once have been a lonely beach, but Lonely Beach isn’t quite as intimate anymore . The small village has now become a landmark where dive centers, clubs and shops have sprung up. It has also become a meeting place for those who want to get together to plan their evening. Its range, however, is the added value , like things that do not lose their charm over time. There is no shortage of visitors and tourists, thanks to its bathing waters , white sand and relaxing vegetation.

Bottle Beach, Surat

You have to go by boat to the northernmost point of the island, about 20 minutes from Thong Nai Pan. However, Bottle Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Phangan and one of the most picturesque in Thailand: you get there by following a very picturesque part of the coast. Everything is perfect: the climate is perfect, the sand is white and the waters are perfect for swimming , in short the bay is magnificent.

1. The Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaew

It is inconceivable to visit Bangkok without going to the Royal Palace, also called the Grand Palace. Erected in 1782 by King Rama I on the right bank of the Chao Phraya, it is a center of Thai political and spiritual life. Its architecture is eclectic, like the kings who succeeded one another, and its perfectly maintained gardens. The Royal Palace includes the throne room, a museum, the former royal residence, and one of the most important temples in Thailand, Wat Phra Kaew.

Wat Phra Kaew is a sumptuous and colorful temple that owes its fame to the Emerald Buddha it houses. Sculpted in jade and dressed in a golden costume, this sacred statue is the emblem of the Chakri dynasty. This temple alone is worth the visit!

4. Emerald Pool

There are several national parks around Krabi, both land and sea. We chose to include Khao Phanom Bencha National Park on our list of things to do in Krabi because it’s an excellent ‘dry land’ park that protects pristine rainforest and is home to plenty of wildlife. You can sign up for an organized excursion from Krabi or come on your own, guided tours are not necessary to visit the park. Keep your eyes open to spot the 200+ species of birds that live in the rainforest of this national park. There are also many animal species that you may be lucky enough to see, including clouded leopard and several species of monkeys.

The park is also well known for its waterfalls which are very large although not particularly high. Huai Pour Falls is impressive with its five waterfalls and drops about 75 meters. Other attractions in the park include caves and numerous hiking trails. It is also a famous place to take an elephant ride. Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Krabi town.

1. Tiger Cave Temple

The best thing to do in Krabi is not a beach or a boat trip, but a temple. Tiger Cave Temple is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the province and is Krabi’s most popular tourist attraction. Despite this, not everyone can visit Tiger Cave Temple because of the exhausting walk to get there. Officially named Wat Tham Suea, this temple is reached by climbing 1,237 steps. So you will need to be in pretty good shape to be able to do this. But, as with most climbs, the reward once you reach the top is well worth the effort! You will be greeted by panoramic views of the surrounding area, including Krabi town and of course you can see the temple as well. As its English name suggests, there are caves at the top, one of which has tiger paw prints on the walls. At the top of the mountain, there is also a large Buddha statue as well as several other temples.

If you are planning to visit this Krabi attraction, plan to take plenty of water with you and remember that this is a religious site. Short or sleeveless clothing is not permitted for women. You can hire a sarong if you are not dressed appropriately. As you climb you will see lots of monkeys. They may look cute, but it’s best not to approach them.
